About Qatari Diar
Qatari Diar was founded in 2005 and belongs to the Qatar Investment Authority, the State of Qatar's sovereign wealth fund. The company says it has delivered projects in 22 countries, and Lusail City in Qatar is among its best-known work. Its board is chaired by Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, and in Egypt it holds a large land bank spread across several areas.
Buying from a developer the size of Qatari Diar
A developer backed by a sovereign fund reassures many buyers about financial strength, but that doesn't replace checking the details of your specific project. Large developments are built in long phases, so ask exactly which phase your unit is in and when that phase is due, not the whole project.
At City Gate and Jade Hills, find out which services will operate at first handover and whether there is an Egyptian partner handling construction or sales. At Alam El Roum and the Red Sea project, the math is different: distance from Cairo, season length, annual service charges, and whether a management and rental service is available while you're away.
Even with a big name, read your contract with this real estate developer clause by clause, especially the late-delivery penalty, the maintenance deposit and the transfer terms if you want to sell before handover.
